Comments Jerry Thompson decided to retire early from a successful banking career in Atlanta, Georgia and move to St. George Island. He chose St. George Island because of its beauty and sound investment potential. "I like the way this area has grown but yet maintained its natural beauty and environmental integrity", says Jerry. He chose to begin a second career in real estate because he can build on many years of experience in banking. Jerry learned the island and the business quickly and became one of the Top Producers, not only in Franklin and Gulf counties, but also the entire Prudential network . He is also active in the community where he served as the 1998-99 President of the Apalachicola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and remains on the Board of Directors. Jerry and Karen are members of St. George Island Methodist Church and St. George Island Civic Club. Jerry is a certified coxwain in the United States Coast Guard Auxillary and is a national certified barbecue judge for the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Jerry is an avid fisherman and you are apt to see him on his days off fishing offshore on his boat, the "Jen Lynn Lea", or fishing the bay on his flats boat.
